Brixton, London
South London is known as one of the best places in the UK for ballers. Not only does the city’s rich street style capture people's attention, so do the ballers in the parks, with their gritty swagger on the court. If we are talking Brixton basketball, we have got to talk about the Brixton Topcats, South London's premier Basketball Club. It is soaked in a rich heritage and has a long-standing status within the community. The club was started back in 1985 by the late Jimmy Rogers, one of the most recognizable coaches in the world.
We have teamed up with the Topcats on their journey to promote positivity through basketball in South London. We will back up their commitment to supporting local youth through discipline on the court and promoting sports as a positive outlet for mental health. There is no doubt that the impact the Topcats have on its members has been changing the community for the better. Working alongside the NBA and Local Organizations, Foot Locker has planned to refurbish a court in South London in 2021. Elevating well used courts in the area will give the neighbourhood another reason to support the basketball community around them.
